Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.11

Hi.

I've recently replaced my old Archer router with a 3 unit Deco mesh EX75Pro. No idea what hardware version it is.

My old setup simply had the Archer router and a 5 port Netgear range extender which worked as a local network for the TV, amp, PVR, NAS etc.

All worked well.

Since installing the Deco system (decommissioned the Archer router) it seems like the Netgear range extender get randomly dropped. I say is because intenet radio periodically stops and the TV pops up "The Internet Cable has been disconnected/connected" messages. Very annoying.

I've disabled beam forming and fast roaming, but that makes no difference.

Any clues from anyone?

Thanks.

  @NotHappyJan

Hi, welcome to the community.

As now there are 3 Deco Mesh units, I think it should cover the whole house.

Have you tried to remove the "5 port Netgear range extender" and connect the TV, amp, PVR, NAS etc directly to Deco?

- By the way, can I have the model number of the "5 port Netgear range extender"?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

Hello.

Thanks for responding.

To be honest, I've no idea what model the range extender is. I can't see anything on the unit itself (other than Netgear), and logging into it it just says "ac1200 range extender". It's a few years old, to say the least.

I would put one of the Decos in its place and add a switch to connect all the gear to it but it's a bad spot for the Deco. I'd lose signal elsewhere. I had thought of buying another Deco, but at ~$250 for one unit it seems a luxury, and one that I didn't see I'd need. I've a gigabit switch I could try plugging in to the range extender and "bypass" the switching that the Netgear unit does. I wonder if the virtual mac addresses that the extender uses causes an issue? I don't think the unit gives me the option to stop that....

Does this make any sense?

Thanks!
