Model: ER7212PC
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20250220 Rel.67749

I am having some weird issue with ER7212PC. Internet cable is connected to WAN3 port and 5 other local devices connected to LAN ports. Everything seems to be working. I can manage the router both via Omada Cloud and locally, so the internet is working, The 5 devices also have internet access.

However, there is some issue with the WAN ports in the Omada Controller. I wanted to setup VPN Client-to-site, but there under WAN setting I get error " No available WAN port. Please go to Wired Networks->Internet to enable the desired WAN port. ".

Then when I go to Wired Networks->Internet there is nothing to set and error message pops out "Something went wrong. Please try again later or contact our technical support."

See the pics. There are no options under WAN Mode. And WAN3 port icon on the right is greyed out, even though the cable is connected and router is serving internet just fine.

I tried new firmware, multiple reboots and factory resets. Even tried the WAN4/LAN port. Nothing changed. Could this be hardware issue? Or wrong setup perhaps?

Hi @Marcopolox

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Some ideas:

1. Do it locally. This might be a sync issue with the cloud web.

2. Hardware performance throttle. Reboot it. See if it can work properly.

3. Too many devices or sites for the ER7212PC. V1 is not a performance beast. Its hardware is very limited and when the RAM is used up or too many sessions for the router, it may break down. Reduce the concurrent devices. ER7212PC is recommended for 50 to 60 clients.

@Clive_A So I tried again full factory reset and restart and it seems to be somehow working...
ad 1. and 2. - As you suggested, I've set up the network locally before connecting it to cloud. I did get a WAN3 error at one point, but this one was perhaps just caused by a restart and temporary loss of internet connection. So thanks for the tip.
ad 3. it's a simple network with 5 devices (phones, PCs) connecting to it to get internet. So that was likely not in play here.

While now it seems to be working properly, as far as the WAN issue is, I still can't make VPN server (client-to-site) work. I am just unable to connect. It's like the WAN port on this controller is closed somehow for incoming VPN connections.
The same setup works with identical unit at my other location.

I will be getting a new ER7212PC unit soon so I will try to swap it and will see if the issue is hardware or if I should look somewhere else. Perhaps the Ubiquity Litebeam is the culprit... I will post an update.

The screenshot just looked like it glitched out.

This model is not equipped with a great-performance chipset. It lags when you apply or sync settings.

If you are looking for replace it some day in the future, recommend you consider its V2 which, according to the datasheet, looks a lot better.
