Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 5.18

I recently updated my Omada Controller to version 5 on my OC200 hardware controller. After enabling Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), I noticed that the "Users" tab is missing from the Application Analytics section. This tab is crucial for monitoring individual user traffic and applications. Upon researching, I discovered that this omission is intentional on hardware controllers like the OC200 due to performance considerations.

Additionally, I've learned that the OC200 hardware controller may have other limitations compared to the Omada Software Controller. For instance, certain advanced features and scalability options available in the software version might be restricted or absent in the hardware version. This is likely due to hardware resource constraints inherent in devices like the OC200

what are the other features not in the omada controller but present in the software controller?

Hi  @deadmau5

Apart from the knowing DPI feature, built-in RADIUS server, what I can think of is the new feature, Cluster Mode.

How to Configure Distributed Cluster Mode on Linux Controller

How to Configure Hot-Standby Backup Mode on Omada Controller

There is no other big difference I can think of.

For more details, I suggest you install a software controller and compare the features you are interested in by yourself.
