Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.2.11 build 20240724 rel. 38913

Hi there.

I have a very annoying issue with my Deco setup in that whenever there's a power outage my Decos will not regain internet connection. I have to maunually power cycle the main unit to re-establish connection.

My broadband NTU takes longer to re-establish its connection than the Deco does to reboot. My guess here is that the Deco reboots when the power is returned and attempts to connect to the internet. However, the NTU is still rebooting, so the connection fails and the Deco gives up. Is this correct? If so, why not have the Deco make more attempts to reconnect? This is very annoying, and has happened a number of times. It means the home internet will be down until such time as I power-cycle the Deco. Annoying if you're away for a weeks holiday!

Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot.

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Are there any other weird equipment connected to the Ethernet ports of the main Deco XE75 Pro?

- If yes, it is suggested to temporarily disconnect from the main Deco.

Can I have the model number of your broadband NTU?

Later, if the same issue repeats, could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following details:

  • A screenshot of the IPV4 settings on the Deco APP when Deco fails to reconnect to the internet after a power outage.
  • A copy of the web UI system log: Deco web interface login

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Hey David,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The only thing plugged into the LAN port of the main Deco is an old Fuji-Xerox CM205fw laser printer. And the reason it's plugged in is because the printer has been unable to connect over WiFi as it did with the Archer router that the Deco has replaced.

The NTU I'm using is an NBN supplied ARRIS model CM8200B P2.

If/when there's another power outage I'll first try unplugging the printer to see if the Deco can recover the connection.

Cheers.

m
