Hello all and thanks for any help.

I purchased an entire omada setup and have been using it without issue for about 2 years now and have 3 vlans setup. 1 for my main network, 1 for my iot devices and 1 for my stepson that can't follow rules so i can limit traffic to keep him off the xbox. I recently purchased the jetstream switch due to it being poe and moved offices from 1 room in the house to the other and wanted to get rid of the multiple poe switches in the house and move everthing to a rack in the new office closet and use 1 centralized poe switch for everthing. I hooked everthing up and started getting texts from my stepson saying that he had no wifi. i looked into it and found that it would try to connect but obtain no ip address on both the iot network Vlan 20 and my stepsons vlan vlan 30. the default lan 192.168.0.x was working fine. I though there was a new issue with the omada setup and spent many hours looking through the controller software to find the issue and finally gave up. After a nights rest and a fresh mind i started thinking the only thing I changed was removing my "dumb" switches and added the jetstream smart switch so i disconnected i and plugged in the old tp link 5 port switch to my acces points and wala, all was working perfectly. i logged into the switch and looked through all the settings and could find nothing the would inhibit traffic on any network, i also am NOT very familiar with all the options in this switch but something in the switch is causing this issue, is there a way to make it "dumb and just pass all traffic or change a setting in the switch to fix my issue. I got a great deal on this switch on marketplace that is why I didnt spring for a expensive omada switch...

Thanks for any help

Colin A.

  @colin77

This is not an Omada switch based on the GUI. FYI.

About the VLAN, it should work regardless of the model. These model should all work fine with the VLAN if you properly config them.

See the guides:

Ideas are the same for different GUI. If you need a step-by-step guide, see the official website FAQ regarding the VLAN for old models(GUI).

yes it was a really old and outdated switch, but you can use it without problems even though it is not Omada compatible.

No there is no way to make it dumb so you have to configure VLANs, you just need to create tagged VLANs on all ports so it should be easy.

I don't know how to do it on this model but you can probably figure it out..
