Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 5.15.20.20

Hello,

I have been running Omada since version 5.3.1 and have a number of Switches and EAP's registered on the controller. I'm using a Raspi 4 with 4GB RAM and Ubuntu 20.

Every so often I install the updated controller software and that has always gone easily without issue. Taking a backup first.

As I now want to upgrade to a new Raspi 5 with 8GB RAM I have had to go to Ubuntu 24 and after much messing around with different versions of Mongo I've gone back to 4.4 and Java 17. Omada is 5.15.20.20

Now for my issue, my backup file is a gz file and Omada now wants a cfg file. How can I restore this? I have struggled to figure this out.

Has anyone come across this? I'ts been a real headache for me.

Thanks

Hi  @Stoneditch

Which firmware version was the gz. file from? Please install that version and import the gz. file to that controller and export it again.

Before each upgrade, always export the old configuration file and import it into the new version.

Additionally, avoid skipping multiple versions during the upgrade process.

@Vincent-TP  Thanks for the reply. I have reset everything and started again. I wasn't able to resolve the version issues. Currently running 5.15.24.18.
Thanks

Hi  @Stoneditch

A cross-version upgrade could indeed lead to this situation. It appears you'll need to reconfigure the settings now.
