Hi All,

 

I am cascading POE Switches for my CCTV network due to distance and topology.

1. I have connected POE Switch to NVR with a 2meter cable. 
2. The above POE switch connected to Second POE switch Port 1 in extended mode. One camera with 40m cable is connected to this POE switch and this camera is getting connected and CCTV is streaming is possible. Also a second camera wiht 20m cable is also working
3. A 3rd POE switch connected to the above POE switch with 80m cable. 4 CCTVs are connected to this POE switch. Now none of the cameras are not appearing in NVR. The cable is good. checked with cable tester.

 

Is it not possible to connect a third POE? What is wornf with my setup. Please let me know.

Unclear description.

If the PoE is used for 80 meters, but your result is that it is not working, consider replacing the cable.

When the cable is used for long distances, it is more likely to be affected by the quality of the cable.

Cable tester only tests the order of the twisted pairs but not test the PoE.

The power might not be able to travel for 80 meters.

In this case, we do not recommend using PoE. Just use the Ethernet and at the 80-meter point, you use another PoE switch to continue the PoE relay. Instead of thinking of using a single PoE switch to cover it up. There's nothing we can do if you insist on this use case. But to replace the cables. Cable is the key to your goal.
