Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 5.15.20.39

Hi folks!

I am the IT manager and I have an OC200 Omada controller on-site since 2019 (~ 6 years). This OC200 is a v1.0 hardware revision and it become progressively slower and slower over years and over firmware upgrade and today, it's just a unresponsive and slow interface when I try to manage my network, it's so anoying!

We are medium sized company with 2 sites located in two cities (over a site-to-site LAN) and we have a total of 15 Omada APs over the 2 sites. So it looks like we are very far away of the advertised maximum capacity of the OC200. While the controller is 6 years old, we have installed new APs over time, most of them are EAP-660-HD in the moment, but I don't think it affect the controller operation anyway.

Today I am wondering if I purchase a brand new OC200 right now, I assume the hardware revision would be much newer, like a v2 or v3 or even newer? And did the new hardware revision may feature a faster CPU, RAM, storage that car make it more responsive and a faster interface? I also considered purchasing an OC500, but it's much more expensive and look totally overkill as per the technical specs compared to our current number of APs.

Thx!

  @SimonC.

The OC200 its now really struggling with the latest controller versions - its simply too limited.  Buying another wont resolve this - wait for the OC220 to be available in your region or just get a OC300

I made the move form 200 to 300 and the difference is night and day

Main: ER8411 x1, SG3428X x1, SG3452 x1, SG2428LP x1, SG3210 x1, SG2218P x1, SG2008P x3, ES208G x1, EAP650 x6 Remote: ER7206 v2 x1, ER605 v2 x3, SG2008P x2, EAP650 x2, ES205G x1 Controller: OC300

  @GRL so for a immediate fix, the OC300 would be the answer? I've indicated OC500 in my original post, but that was a typo, I meant OC300.

I'll definitely conside getting the OC300 in this case, maybe it will be on a huge discount on the upcoming Prime Days, usually TP-Link are prettty generous during this annual event! LOL

Thx!

I have heard that the C220 should be out before September, so maybe another 1-1.5 months.  If you can't wait for that your options are the C300 or trying to spin up a software controller (which is more complicated than it should be).
