Model: ER7412-M2
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1

I upgraded from 1 gbps x 35 mbps to a full 1g x 1g fiber.  When I did a speedtest plugged into my old 7206 I would only get 1g x 300m.

I plugged the cable going into my wan port into my laptop with a usb to ethernet adapter and got a full 1g x 1g, using the same laptop plugged into the router I would still only get 1g x 300m.

I upgraded to a 7412-M2 hoping the extra overhead on the 2.5g wan port would help, it did not, same 1g x 300m speeds.  I double checked by taking the wan cable back onto the laptop ethernet adapter, back to full 1g x 1g speed.

I went over all of my WAN settings and any switch settings I could see, but nothing has helped.  I have no bandwith control or QoS or anything like that.  Wireguard and IPS are turned off as well.

Any ideas would he very helpful!

Thanks!

If you want it to eat up all the uploads on the second WAN, your ratio should be modified. Instead of using 1:1, you should increase the full symmetric fiber line weight.

Load balance will balance not just the download, but also the upload.

You are seeing the download fine because the two fibers are the same. And whatever the ratio you set, that'll reflect the same speed. But that's not the same story for the upload.

@Clive_A I am not sure what you mean by 2nd WAN.  I am only using the 1 WAN port.  Also, I have no control over the fiber line weight Verizon installed to my house.

My bad. I read that part wrong. I thought there were two lines.

Do you have it in controller mode? Hardware Offload enabled?

Do you have a DNS setting on the WAN? Use auto instead.

Enable bandwidth control and set the value to max, will the speed improve?

I am using an OC200 controller with it. Not sure where I would enable hardware offload. i am using google DNS for my DNS settings, I also swapped it to auto instead, same speeds. I'll take a look at bandwidth control.

I found hardware offload, it was already enabled.

I looked at bandwidth control and didnt see any setting for maxed so I put in 1000 mbps for both upload and download and the speed did not improve. Is it possible my OC200 is bogging everything down?

I also saw a post about Flow Control, I have it turned on on all my ports on my router, still no dice.

Strange enough. So, you are using speedtest.net or Verizon's official website for a speed test?

OC200 is not involved in the speed test. It is only a controller that is used to control the Omada devices. It is not involved in the actual network use. Even if there is a problem, it is the router's side. OC200 only provides the interface to config and sync the config to the devices.

You don't have IDS/DPI features enabled? Security features.

How to Troubleshoot Slow Speed Test Results on Omada Router

Is your modem set to bridge mode or router mode? Maybe there is a problem with the mode on your modem. Could sessions be limited on it? What if you set the modem to bridge mode, connect the router and will it get a better result?

Yeah I didn't think the OC200 would affect performance, but I'm just trying to make sure I cover everything I Can. I do not have any IDS/DPI settings turned on that I am aware of. I have no control over my modem, it belongs to Verizon, so I do not know if its in bridge mode. I did check a direct connection to it using the cable that goes to the WAN port on my router plugged into a usb ethernet adapter plugged into my laptop and I got full gig up and down (well, 900m but thats basically full gig).

After turning on flow control and bandwidth control I got as low as 90 mbps, so after turning all of that back off, I am back to 300mbps, still not a gig though. I also rebooted my entire stack, didn't seem to help.  I may unplug all of my switches and aps and just plug into the router without those devices on the network and see if that does anything to rule them out.
