Problem with the channel width in the EasyMesh network on Archer AX80 and two satellites Archer AX73
Problem with the channel width in the EasyMesh network on Archer AX80 and two satellites Archer AX73

I have the same problem as some users describe for Archer AX80 and Archer AX73 Routers when they connect to EasyMesh!
As the main Router I use Archer AX80 V1.0 (latest firmware Archer AX80(EU)_V1_1.1.4 Build 20241227) and as satellites I have two Archer AX73 V2.0 (also latest firmware Archer AX73(EU)_V2_1.1.2 Build 20250210) and everything is connected with Ethernet Backhaul via LAN cables CAT 5E.
On Archer AX80 in Wi-Fi settings I only have 5GHz enabled, while 2.4GHz is disabled and I don't use it.
The problem is the same as described by some users, when I select the channel width of 20/40/80 MHz on the main router, it is only on that main router Archer AX80, while on the other two Archer AX73 satellites it is always 20/40/80/160MHz and this cannot be changed in any way...
Also, another problem is that in the Tether application for Archer AX80 I do not see the option for EasyMesh, only OneMesh, and that is very irritating?
The third problem is that when I successfully add the Archer AX73 satellites to EasyMesh via the LAN1 port and then want to connect them via the WAN port, then the devices will not connect via the Ethernet Backhaul, but only wirelessly...
Do you have a solution for all this?
Regards!

Dear @Joseph-TP
Thank you very much and I look forward to the firmware!
Will this beta firmware fix the channel width issue on satellite devices in the EasyMesh network, and will it also fix the issue on the Archer AX80 in the Tether app with OneMesh showing instead of EasyMesh?
Regards.

Hi@zexoni70,
Thanks for getting back to me.
This beta firmware is mainly used to repair the Onemesh component.
It is also recommended that you check whether the other two situations mentioned above have been improved after the update? Or are the same problems still existing?

Ah yes, I looked in the messages now and see the link for the Beta firmware.
Sorry, my mistake because I didn't look at the messages, I was expecting to receive a mail.
I will download the firmware when I get home and try it and report the results.
Regards and thanks!

Dear @Joseph-TP here is the report:
I updated the Archer AX80 to the Beta firmware you provided the link for and the update went smoothly and without any issues. The device works stably and let's start with the good things and the problems that have been solved with this Beta firmware, which are:
1. In the Tether app now EasyMesh is showing and everything is OK and all satellites are visible and can be managed (rename and reboot)
2. When I access the settings in the Archer AX80 via a browser, the EasyMesh menu is also much clearer, richer and you can see how many devices are connected to each satellite separately and that's a great thing, and also Restarting the satellite is a great option.

3. The problem that still seems not to be solved with this Beta firmware is the problem where I still can't control the channel width on the satellites and that width always remains stuck at 160MHz. If I select a channel width of 20/40/80MHz on the main Archer AX80 router, for some reason that channel width is only on that main router, while on all satellites the channel width remains stuck at 160MHz.
I tried everything, restarted each satellite separately and the main router, but does the problem still exist with the channel width only on the satellites, or maybe it's simply a problem only in the Archer AX73 routers when they work in satellite mode in the EasyMesh network...

Hello@zexoni70 ,
Thank you so much for getting back to me with the detailed reply.
For 5GHz, we recommend you use channel in Band 4, which is channel 149-165. If the issue persists, please refer to the FAQ below to collect backup file of the router:
How to create and restore from a backup file on your TP-Link Router
Then send the backup file to support.forum@tp-link.com, attaching [Forum ID 830418] and details, and we will have a dedicated person to assist in analysis and follow-up.
