Model: ER707-M2
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.3

Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue where my TP-Link ER707-M2, located behind a Vodafone Station in bridge mode, is not receiving an IPv6 prefix.

When I use a Fritz!Box instead of the ER707, everything works perfectly and I receive a /59 prefix.

When I try to establish an IPv6 connection with the TP-Link, I briefly see the DNS servers for a few seconds, but no IPv6 address. After that, the status switches back to "disconnected".

Attached is the WAN port configuration of my router. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the correct setup should look like, but I expected it to work this way.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Hi Clive, thanks for your response, but no, the provider device is running in bridge mode.
If I use in AVM router instead of the ER707, also behind the bridged provider modem it is getting a prefix without issues.

The only differences in configuration on this device are, that its not necessary to the set the prefix manually und "use DHCPv6 Rapid Commit" which I can't find in Omada.

kind regards

What if you try the different mode on IPv6? SLAAC or non-address mode.

no-address mode has fixed the problem. However, I am sure I have already tested every option beforehand. I can't say exactly what made the difference now.
Thank you.

Prefix would only exist once in an IPv6 network.

Is it possible that your modem is not set to bridge mode and it holds the prefix?

Thank you.

Non-address mode is used for the router when it is a secondary IPv6 device, which means your Frizbox is the primary IPv6 router serving the PD.

Put it in a simple way, the Omada router is not assigning the PD but receiving from the primary IPv6 router.

Other IPv6 modes are not made for this situation. Non-address mode is specially designed for this kind of situation.
