Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.3.0 Build 20250428

Running Omada 5.15.20.39 on an OC200. The network is fine, however, a glitch yesterday has me checking everything.

We have two ISPs and I want to make sure everything is set to properly. We want everything to pass through Starlink (set to primary), with BT (set to secondary) as backup. Both services have DNS set to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4. Link Backup is enabled and failover mode is 'any primary', with recovery mode 'always primary'.

I have a few questions.

  1. I'm sure there used to be a setting to define online detection, but I can't find anything. How does the router determine online detection?
  2. Associated with the above. BT is connected, but online detection shows 'Offline'?
  3. I'm getting regular logs stating that WAN/LAN2 is offline, yet the router shows the service as connected and online detection 'Online'. Logs are all correctly set yet there are no logs to show WAN connectivity as Online - only offline.
  4. Is there a facility within Omada to confirm which service is currently live?

Thanks.

1. There is never an option to define the online detection in the WAN settings page. It is under the device tab and called Echo Server in the controller mode. It has been like this since the Omada Controller can adopt the router and switch(since V4.0).

How does the system tell the online status?

2. See the link above.

3. Same, see the link above.

4. I am not sure what you mean by that. There is no feature on the Omada to confirm a service. You only have the option of online detection to detect Internet access on WANs.
