Good afternoon! I'm kind of lost which Deco mesh system I need so would really appreciate your help! Some facts and figures:

1. We will have fibre and Starlink as a backup

2. Or house is standard 3 bed bungalow (105sqm/1130sqft)

3. We have around 50 devices that will be connecting to the network (smart bulbs, smart plugs, temp and humidity sensors, fire alarms, mobile phones, laptops, TVs, etc)

3. I need internet in the garage as we have some equipment there that needs to be connected to internet, see pic below

At the back of the house is kitchen and I could place 1 Deco there, exactly where an arrow is. Based on that:

1. Would I need separate Deco in the garage itself or should one from the kitchen window cover it?

2. I have robotic mover at the front and the back of the house that use WiFi, I think Deco on the kitchen window would cover back lawn. I'm pretty sure I will need 1 Deco in front of the house to cover front lawn?

3. I'm planning to have fibre, starlink and main Deco up in the attic. Is main Deco working OK if placed in the attic or it needs to be leveled or below other Decos that are connecting to it?

And the most important question is.... Based on all of the above, which Deco mesh system would you recommend? We are not gamers, we do stream and I'm working from home. I don't want to go mad on it, as I don't think we need to go with the latest tech, but I would also like to future proof a bit. What would be the best value for money in my circumstance?

Thanks everyone!!!

Hi, thank you very much for your time and patience.

How much of your fiber bandwidth?

Deco doesn't support a Dual-WAN connection. It is very likely you'll need to add a local balance router in front of Deco, such as:

Would there be any reserved Ethernet wall jackets inside the house?

Ethernet Backhaul would be an excellent suggestion to provide a decent speed and a stable network.

Deco XE75/Deco XE75 Pro would be a good recommendation. It supports 2.4+5+6 GHz WiFi.

You can start with a 3-pack, and all Deco models work with each other. You can add an extra Deco(for example, Deco X50-outdoor) for outdoor coverage.

Best regards.

Thank you for your reply. Fibre bandwith will be 1GB with Sky Ireland and most probably Starlink as a backup back up.

I don't have any ethernet cables in the walls.

Do you think Deco XE75 would cover garage from the house, or I would need one in the garage itself?

I would go with the XE75 pro because it has a 2.5 Gbps port the XE75 doesn't have this port

A Single XE75/XE75 pro deco can covers up to 2900 Sq.Ft

A 2 pack of XE75/XE75 pro decos can cover up to 5500 Sq.Ft

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.

What would I need 2.5 Gbps port for? As I said, we are not gamers. We do stream on few devices. I just don't want to pay for premium if I need something mid way.

Hope that makes sense?

"A Single XE75/XE75 pro deco can covers up to 2900 Sq.Ft" This would be 2.5 times my house. Is it good in penetrating walls?

Thanks!

Having the 2.5 Gbps port sets you up if you want faster speeds later on instead of having to buy a new router. Price wise if we price a 2 pack of XE75 Vs XE75 pro the price difference is 30

That's really the only difference between the two models is that port
