Model: ER7206 (TL-ER7206)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 20230322 Rel.70951

So for awhile I've been trying to setup a simple VPN and I "think" I finally figured out the issue. In the ER7206 router I the wan port details it does not show my actually public ip address.

I have fiber internet with a calix 716ge-i, which doesn't really have any configuration that can be changed.

Do I need a different ONT?

Contact your ISP regarding this.

The WAN on the ER7206 displays a private IP. It means the upstream link provides that specific IP address. Assuming your modem is in router mode, which creates the double-NAT. Which you could change it into bridge mode. ISP support should provide help over this.

Or you don't have a public IP at all because your ISP does not provide one.

Though you can find your IP by typing what is my IP on Google. But that doesn't mean anything if your ISP does not assign one for you. You are still in a huge local area network.
