Hey everyone,

I’ve had a fiber connection for years and now want to use my own router.

The router is an AX55 Pro.

The connection was switched to a customer-owned router.

But I can’t get the NT to assign IP addresses.

I had the same problem before when I tried to replace the Deutsche Glasfaser router. Restarting, keeping the NT unplugged for a long time, and even leaving it connected overnight didn’t help back then.

I also didn’t get any helpful support from DG at the time. In the end, I returned the new router and kept the old one…

Now I’m facing the same issue with my own router.

Dynamic IP is set, I’ve tried powering off the router and the NT, leaving everything off overnight.

I also tried VLAN IDs (7, 132, …) – no change.

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

Best regards,

Philip

Hello @Phil_at_home ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

NT—Archer AX55 Pro )))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

The dynamic IP address and VLAN ID you mentioned are all router configuration information. Your ISP must provide this information.
Please confirm this information before attempting configuration again.
You can also compare the network settings on your new router with those on your old router to ensure that the basic configuration information is correct.

If you still can't access the network, try using a Mac clone:How do I configure MAC Address Clone on my TP-Link Archer Router?

Hi,

Verify that you contract was indeed switched to customer-owned router. (perhaps check whether this information shows somewhere in your customer account)

If you have a computer with Ethernet port, then connect it directly to the NT and see if it will be assigned IP addresses by the NT (let it connected for a few hours). Then let us know the result.
