hi,

I bought a Archer TXE70UH AXE5400 usb adapter to replace my Gigabyte wifi antenna.

The firt time I installed the adapter the connection was half the speed I have (I have a 2.5gbit fiber connection) and I could download at a maximum of 50MB per second.

I tried to make some tweek on the hardware management panel where I put 5G chanel first and other stuff I cant remember.

After a reboot of the PC the speed was up again and I could download at 160MB per second using Steam.

Now I have just turned on my pc and the connection is half the speed again.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the adapter few times, disabled other wifi devices on my pc and tried some options in the hardware management panel but nothing works.

Now Win update is downloading an update but I take too long with this speed.

IS there something I can try to fix this problem?

Thank you!

Hi,

Have you already verified that your Wi-Fi router is indeed broadcasting at 160 MHz channel width all the time? On the 5 GHz band it is somewhat common for routers to switch down to 80 MHz channel width when they think they might have detected some interference. You would need to use a Wi-Fi scanner/analyzer software or app to check.
