Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

It seems after years and several firmware updates tp-link had no interest in increasing the limits on device reservation and access control lists. If you have lots of devices you are out of luck and renders a security feature, whitelisting access control, absolutely useless. Very disappointed. It means when it comes to replacing the router, tp-link are now way down on my list of preferred suppliers.Tickets were raised and subsequently ignored.

Be warned.

Hello @RalfyFM ,

Welcome to our community.

For access control, do you want to increase the number of device entries in the access control client list?

Generally speaking, modifying a function via firmware requires significant changes. It also necessitates evaluation by relevant departments, considering multiple factors including software and hardware.

Sometimes, not making modifications is primarily for stability.

Approximately how many devices in your network have access control configured?  Are the settings you've configured not working?

By the way, could you let me know the ticket ID for your case? Have you contacted the local support via the email address on the official website? Click here.

@Joseph-TP Appreciate you replying. Yes it is about increasing the number of devices allowed under access control and address reservation. Both seem to be limited to 64 devices. I have over 100, mostly smart devices but also a good number of phones, laptops, PC's etc.I often get address conflicts and address reservation allows me to set more critical devices to higher addresses. I can do this sometimes on the device itself but for some devices I can only do this with address reservation. I know devices don't have to accept the address given, but I have more of a chance of reducing an address conflict using address reservation.

It's the access control restriction I really don't like. I want to whitelist my devices, hence blocking anything new from trying to connect. I want to be in control of this. I cannot whitelist all my devices which means I have to turn this feature off completely.

I raised this with TP-Link support a long time ago, so original case id's are long gone on my side. At the time they said they would look to change it. I then heard nothing and nothing has changed.

Regards
