DHCP with EAP650

Model: EAP650
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20241103 Rel. 6781

I have the EAP650 connected via Ethernet cable to one port of a Ethernet Bridge that is connected to our office LAN port.  Everything is on 192.168.0.x network. I am using the free software Omada 650 Controller.   When one of our clients (lets call it Goofy - its an embedded device running its own code) connects to the EAP650 it keeps failing to obtain an IP address.  How should I configure the settings on the EAP650 via the Omada software controller so that this device can get an IP address?  On the controller I have configured a WLAN network on the EAP650 called "WPA2".  I have Freeradius running on a Linux laptop with the settings configured to allow Goofy to be authenticated.  The authentication part on Freeradius works perfectly.  Goofy when powered up, tries to join WPA2 network and the EAP650 immediately contacts the Freeradius laptop and proceeds with successful authentication but after this Goofy keeps saying that it is unable to get an IP address via DHCP.  Any help would be great.

Hi @AnandEdwin,

Assuming you didn't assign the SSID on the AP to another VLAN, the DHCP request should get broadcast on the 192.168.0.x network.  Have you checked your DHCP server logs?  Also, if you have a laptop or another device with both wifi and wired connections you can work your way out from the office LAN to test each leg of the network (LAN, LAN-Bridge, LAN-Bridge-AP) to confirm that the DHCP request only fails when connecting using the EAP650.

Hi  @AnandEdwin

Thanks for posting here. Does the situation persist?

To understand the situation better, please let us know more details:

1. What is the network topology? Specifically, please clarify: What device is the “Ethernet Bridge” you mentioned? Which devices are connected before and after it?

2. If connect Goofy  to the office's network, will it obtain IP address? If yes, I believe this is caused by the Ethernet bridge.

3. Screenshots of the SSID settings.
