What would cause a device to flicker the ethernet port on and off like this?

After switching to another port that port also flickered on and off which makes me think its likely device ended, but what could cause a device to do that? Its a basically new PC with a PCI network card and the cable seems good so far? Any ideas for where to search or how to search?

Tuesday

Hello @LegendForHire ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

When did this unstable connection begin? Have you changed any settings on the BE800 recently? Like a firmware update, or a change of wireless settings.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

 [Modem] (Internet Access)
        |
        |
    10Gbps WAN Port on BE800 ─┬─ 3x LAN Ports
─ LAN Port → [PC] (PCIe NIC)

  • Please specify which WAN and LAN ports are connected.
  • If you remove the PC, will the router's unstable connection still exist? What is the model and operating system of your PC?
  • If there is a switch between the router and PC, please also try removing the switch.
  • Please try a different cable between the modem and router.
