Tuesday
Model: EAP211-Bridge KIT
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: EAP211-bridgev3_1.1.3_[20250805-rel76570]

I have a EAP211 wireless bridge with the master in my house and the client on the roof of my outbuilding with a cable running down into the building itself, which is connected via cable through the passive PoE device into a Netgear Nighthawk access point in the building.  When I did the initial installation, it all worked.  I could reach both ends of the EAP211 Bridge and the Nighthawk AP over the wireless bridge.  Then, I updated the firmware and the wired LAN doesn't apparently pass any bits.

If I plug the cable into a Gigabit switch, (a TP-Link TL-SG1008D) then the link light on the switch blinks every few seconds, but never comes up and stays up, which is what happens if I plug the cable into one of the switched ports on the Nighthawk.

Normally, I'd suspect cabling, but it did work at first and the PoE is providing power and I've tried several cables between the PoE injector and the wired LAN device inside the building.  Besides, I'd rather not climb back up on the roof without exhausting all other options first, so I'm hoping there's something else.

@Cybersmythe Are you managing in Standalone mode or Controller mode? Can you provide the firmware version that you upgraded to?
Lastly, if you plug a laptop directly into the LAN port on the client AP, are you able to ping the main AP?

@NeilR_M Standalone mode.  If I plug the cable from the PoE injector into a laptop, I don't get link so there's no IP address.

The version on the client reports "1.1.3 Build 20250805 Rel. 76570(5553)"

@Cybersmythe If you go to the IP of the Main AP and log in, then go to Bridge Network > Bridge APs List > Add Client-AP, after scanning, does the Client-AP appear in the list?

@NeilR_M I don't need to do all that.  When I go to the Bridge Network page, it shows the both of the units on the bridge network, and it's already listed in the Bridge APs list.  I can also do the same after attaching to the Client AP directly.

@Cybersmythe So if you can access the Client AP's page, can you try reverting to the previous firmware version and seeing if it resolves the issue?

@NeilR_M I don't think a downgrade is possible.  I didn't write down what the old firmware version was, but even if I did it says "rolling back to any of the previous versions are forbidden".  I would attempt it, but I don't know where to download it from, or if it would be at all likely to work.  My experience programming similar devices suggests that there are usually really good reasons to prevent downgrades.

At this point, I'm pretty much resigned to climbing back up on the roof and bringing the device down so that I can try things like different cables, non-PoE  with connections on different ports and such to see what's up.

@NeilR_M I'm watching this thread, as I'm still running firmware v1.0.0 Build 20240723 Rel. 38150 because my OC200 v2.21.7 Build 20250707 Rel.72486 and all previous versions are broke in providing me with a firmware update in the Firmware tab for my EAP211s, other devices worked fine. I had to manually search the EAP211 product page just to find out there's better firmwares than the initial 2024 release. Now I'm afraid to update mine for risk of bricking the LAN port, unless it's just a one time issue the OP has. Maybe v1.1.2 would have better success?
