Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I was looking for Load Balancing of my ER605 in Omada cloud but nothing there.

I linked my ER605 to my local PC installed software controller.

Actually I can search for the function but still it will lead me back to same Wan Mode page.

Is there something wrong with my software controller or need different setup?

Please help.

Hi @crispbytes, maybe you need more than one WAN port to see the Load Balancer option.

hi  @D-C,

thanks for the suggestions but why I can see the Load Balancing options in another ER605 in Standalone Mode.

Is it the Omada cloud version different from the Standalone Mode?

@crispbytes, yes the Omada SDN UI is different than the UI that run natively (standalone) on the devices.

hi @D-C,

so the SDN UI will override the Standalone Mode in terms of the Load Balancing option.

And I probably can see again the Load Balancing if there's second active WAN connection?

@crispbytes, when a device converted to/from SDN controlled and standalone, ALL settings are reset.  You cannot use both methods to manage an Omada device at the same time and there is not a SDN/Standalone settings converstion tool that I'm aware of.  If you want to test the features of SDN and standalone, you need to configure each independently.  Both can be backed up and restored independently.

I don't have a gateway to test this with, but logically if you only have one wan connection you can't really load balance.
