hello everyone i hope youre doing well ...

i have two tp link td w8961n routers and a desktop that dosent have wifi card and i want to use wds to connect secondary router to the main router and connect the desktop to secondary router via cable...

1 - i reseted both routers to default factory setting

2 - i set the channel to 06 on the primary router

3 - i enabled wds, and i added the mac adress of the secondary router and all the other options

4 - i changed the ip adresss of the secondary router to 192.168.1.2

5 - i disabled dhcp

6 - then i acitivate the wds and i added the primary router mac adress

7 - now i see on my desktop that the internet is working i used for short time and its working fine 

the issue is when i restart the computer the internet is no longer available,,, can any one help solve this issue

Thanks for contacting our community.

 

After you reboot the desktop, will it automatically connect to the main modem? Or, can you manually connect it to the second modem?

Is there any error message? Please take a screenshot and send it here.

Have you compare other client connected to the second modem? Will they automatically connect to the second modem?

Also, could you consider wired backhaul between these two modems for a try? That is, setting the second modem to Access Point mode.
