Hi

had a kit which supports both shed and attic. Attic unit has been working without issue for a long time. Tried to print and no printer could be found. Checked attic and problem seems to be with TP link device. Powered off/on but still same. Any ideas how I can check/resolve ?

thanks

Andy

Hello Andy @Numpty-AWH1 ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

Looks like your TL-WPA8631P powerline extender in the attic has been working fine for a long time, but now you can't find your printer on the network. Here are some steps you can follow to check:

1. Verify the powerline connection:
• Make sure both powerline units are plugged directly into wall outlets (not power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords, as these can block the powerline signal)
• Try moving the attic unit to a different wall outlet to rule out any electrical issues with that specific outlet

2. Check the connection to your main router:
• Verify that the Ethernet cable connecting your main powerline adapter to the router is secure, and try different LAN ports on the router, or use another Ethernet cable

3. Test with devices closer to the router:
• Connect your printer or other devices directly to the main router to confirm the Internet is working properly on the router itself

4. Reset and re-pair the powerline devices:
If the above steps don't help try resetting both powerline devices and pairing them again:
• Reset: Press and hold the pair button for at least 6-15 seconds on each device
• Re-pair: Follow the pairing instructions at How to secure (pair) the Powerline Network
