Model: TL-WPA7617 KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi

I have a setup with provider router broadcasting wifi, + Wpa7617 kit.

When any of my heos speakers connect via TP, it fails to connect to wifi. After 1 or 2 min, leds start to flash red (on heos). However when i disconnect the TP, the heos speakers connect fine to the provider router, without any disruption

Tested this situation several times, all heos speakers have the same problem. Other devices like smartphone have no connection issues via TP

Any suggestions?

Hello @DannyBosman ,

Welcome to our community.

This appears to be a device-specific compatibility with your HEOS speakers through the powerline extender's WiFi. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve this:

1. Check router settings that might block specific devices:
• Ensure your router doesn't have settings like MAC Filtering or Access Control enabled, as these can block certain devices from connecting properly through the powerline network
• Check if there are any device limits or restrictions on your router that might affect the HEOS speakers

2. Modify the WiFi settings on the powerline extender:
• Try changing the WiFi name (SSID) and password on your WPA7617, avoiding special characters like apostrophes
• Consider changing the wireless mode settings. For guidance: How to customize wireless settings

3. Reset and reconfigure the powerline devices:
• Reset the WPA7617 powerline extender by pressing and holding the Reset button for at least 5 seconds
• Re-pair the powerline devices following this guide: How to secure (pair) the Powerline Network
• After reset, try connecting your HEOS speakers again with the default settings

4. Update firmware:
• Ensure your WPA7617 is running the latest firmware, as updates often fix compatibility issues with specific devices
• After upgrading, re-pair the powerline devices. Upgrade guidance: How to upgrade firmware

5. Test with different powerline WiFi settings:
• If your WPA7617 has cloned the WiFi settings from your main router (same SSID/password), try giving it a unique WiFi name instead
• Some devices can have issues when multiple access points share the same network name
