Deco BE65 not recognising powerline adaptors
Tuesday
Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20250718 Rel. 43949

Just bought a Deco BE65 to replace my old TP-Link Archer V600. Previous setup had multiple powerline TP-Link TL-PA4022 AV600 powerline adaptors plugged directly into the router.

After installing the BE65 it won't recognise any of the powerline adaptors. I've reset and resynced the adaptors, tried plugging them direct into my network switch, different ports on the BE65 and used various cables to no avail.

Plugging my VR600 back in and the powerline adaptors appear straight away in the wired client list. Is there anyway to get them to work with the BE65?

The BE65 was bought as a single unit to take advantage of fibre broadband, the devices I have wired by powerline are essential and cannot go on wi-fi.

Any tips or advise would be appreciated.

How fast is your internet service? The TL-PA4022P adapters you currently have can only go up to 100Mbps. I'm not sure why they are not connection now but if your paying for anything more than 100Mbps i recommend switching the current adapters out with the ones in the link below.

https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-pa7027p-kit/

These will go up to 1000 Mbps. If you pay for more than 1000 Mbps let us know.

  @HelpFixDecoApp

Thanks for the tip. I pay for a 300mbps fibre line, which i wasn't achieving on my old router (wouldn't go fast then 90mbps, the BE65 got the full speed on test).

The powerline adaptors feed my Kef active speakers, so the speed I'm getting out of them is what I need to make my music system work (you have to hard wire them for the maximum quality high resolution audio, using wi-fi only caps this). So speed isn't the issue, it's getting them to be recognised by the BE65.

See if any of the following help

1. Check if the powerline adapters are getting IP addresses: Even if they don't appear in the Deco app's client list, try checking if the devices connected to the powerline adapters can access the internet. Sometimes devices may function even if not displayed correctly in the app.

2. Verify DHCP settings: Ensure the Deco's DHCP server has enough available IP addresses in its pool and that the powerline adapters are set to obtain IP addresses automatically.

3. Firmware updates: Make sure your Deco BE65 is running the latest firmware version, as compatibility improvements are often included in updates.

4. Factory reset the Deco: As a last resort, you might try factory resetting the BE65 and setting it up fresh to see if this resolves the recognition issue.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please reply back to this post and I will have you send in your logs so I can get this looked at further for you

Thanks

On (1), the devices are seemingly not getting IP addresses as the speakers they are connected to don’t show as part of my music server system. The server for which is plugged direct into the BE65. On (3), I updated the firmware immediately after initial setup of the router so it’s 100% on the latest version. Will look into (2) and have a look at the DHCP settings, but it will have been setup as default and I’ve never previously and an issue of running out of IP addresses. As I only have between 20 and 25 devices connected in my house. I’ll also do a factory reset (4) too.

@HelpFixDecoApp it was brand new out of the box, initial setup completed then immediate firmware upgrade. So never tried it with the out of the box firmware.

If the other steps don't work let me know and we can try rolling back the firmware to see if that fixes the issue,

Hi, welcome to the community.

In your case, please provide the following information for further analysis.

  1. What's the LED status on the TL-PA4022? How many powerline adapters do you have?

  2. Is the main TL-PA4022 connected to the BE65's LAN port, or is there a switch connected to the BE65's LAN port, and the main TL-PA4022 is connected to that switch?

  3. If you disconnect the main TL-PA4022 from the front Deco/switch, connect the same Ethernet cable to a computer, and do you have internet on the computer? What's the IP address(Ethernet) on the PC?
How to find IP address on your devices

Btw, your Deco BE65's firmware is the latest version, and there is no need to downgrade.

Best Regards

I have five powerline adaptors, all TP-Link and similar in appearance to the model noted.

I've connected the main powerline adaptor to both the BE65 LAN port (all four) and into my Netgear Switch, which is plugged into the BE65. The latter shows the non powerline devices plugged into but not the ones on the powerline network.

I'll give the laptop trick a try when I get home from

work, and find out if it has an IP address / internet connection.

Can you please provide the model number of your Netgear Switch. it could be causing issues if it's a managed switch.
