I have a Play BOX NET FTTH router. I can't change it because it's a device provided by my internet provider. I tried boosting its signal using a TP-Link RE700X. Creating an extended network in the app worked fine. Unfortunately, after a while (minutes, hours), the router disconnects from the external (global) internet, and the main 5G network is then disconnected from it. This has happened, for example, when connecting a TV decoder to an internet booster via Ethernet cable. This phenomenon doesn't occur without an internet booster. I've tested using the same and different SSIDs for the main and extended networks. No change. Has anyone ever encountered something like this? What can I change?

Hello @agh10 ,

Welcome to our community.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that can help address this:

1. Confirm the router maintains a stable connection on its own.
Disconnect the extender entirely and check if the router stays connected to the internet for an extended period. This helps confirm the issue is extender-related.

2. Update the extender's firmware to the latest version.
Outdated firmware can cause instability. You can do this through the Tether app or the extender's web interface. (Guide: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1406/)

3. Keep the extender away from interfering devices such as metal objects, microwaves, fish tanks, or Bluetooth devices, as these can affect stability.

4. Reset and reconfigure the extender.
Use a pin to press the reset button for 1–8 seconds until all lights turn on momentarily. Then open the Tether app, tap the "+" button to add the extender, and follow the setup instructions. (Guide: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1373/)

5. Optimize your router's Wi-Fi channel settings to reduce interference:
• 2.4GHz: Use channels 1, 6, or 11
• 5GHz: Use Band 1 (channels 36–48)

Best Regards.
