Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20210113 Rel.35074

I can't get my TL-R605 v1 router running 1.0.1 Build 20210113 Rel.35074 to be adopted by my OC200 controller after updating to version 4.3.5.

I had no problems with it when it was the controller version was 4.2.11

I tried to manually adopt it and entered the correct user name and password and it still fails.

I know the user name and password that I am using is correct because I can go to IP address of the router and log in and it tells me it was being managed by a controller.

Is the router firmware 1.0.1 Build 20210113 Rel.35074 not compatible with the new controller software 4.3.5?

Is there steps I can take to get this router back under my controllers control?

@jone9618

I rebooted the router last night after trying multiple time to adopt it.

By the time it was up and I checked the controller it was adopted.

So to quote the IT Crowd "Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

A reboot of the router fixed my issue.

Try using the username and password under "Device Account" on the Settings>Site page.  Is you system (controller, switch, etc) using the default subnet 192.168.0.XX?

@1207 I am using the same user name and password that is under "Device Account"

I am able to log on to the router using this user name and password.

My router is addressed 192.168.1.1 and it was working fine before the software update.

It's a little confusing because you indicated that logging in to the router's configuration page through a browser at 192.168.1.1, it indicates it is being controlled by the controller. But the device page in Omada is indicating the router is not adopted? I would factory reset the router with the hardware reset button and try to adopt again.

There have been issues when the subnet IP address of the controller and router do not match. The default router IP is 192.168.0.1, so you may need to set a controller static IP address to 192.168.0.100. Then adopt the router and change the IP address back. Check this Link.

@1207

My router is 192.168.1.1 (when I log in to the web interface it references that it's been configured and managed by a controller and to factory reset it if you want to go back to stand alone mode)

My controller is 192.168.1.253

I can't use the default network of 192.168.0.1 because it is used by my ISP modem on the WAN.

I wanted someone to confirm that the router with the version of firmware it is running is compatible with 4.3.5 software.

I don't find it acceptable to have to factory default a router every time I update controller software.

Yes, I can confirm the router firmware and the controller firmware you are running is compatible. I'm running the same versions.

@Eightwiretech I had the same issue.  I powered everything down.  Powered the router back up by iteself, waited until it had booted, then restarted everything else.  All is now adopted.
