Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.1.2

Hello,
has anyone here managed to implement exactly the situation described in the FAQ?

Currently, the controller is running locally at one location with an ER605 gateway. Now another location is to be added, also with an ER605 - but with a USB stick (E8732 from Huawei).
It works until the 3rd step, adoption. Until then it runs in standalone mode with working internet via the stick. After the 3rd step, the message appears that provisioning and configuration are in progress. After that, in the controller, it is disconnected ("[...]was disconnected") after approx. 11 minutes and the Internet at location 2 no longer works. This means I can no longer access the ER605: I can switch to the web interface of the ER605 of the second location at the end. The message appears that this gateway is managed by a controller. The only possibility here is to perform a reset.

In step two, I tried it via DHCP option 138 as well as via the informer URL.

Thanks and greetings

Christian

You probably have a huge problem. if you adopted without preconfiguring the USB interface, then everything is over on the WAN interface, which you have not connected to.
can you send a screenshot of your internet settings?

@shberge Thanks for your quick reply.

The second location is currently still without internet. Therefore, it is not yet a "huge problem". :-)

Here is a screenshot of the settings for the Internet of the second location; I mean that I have preset or prepared it with this. The USB stick establishes the internet connection as soon as it gets power or is started. (The first location is connected via WAN).

OK, did you set these settings before adopting?
how is the setup on the site where the controller is? does it go via VPN or do you have NAT in to the controller?

It must be something with the settings on the USB that has failed, it is probably a bit special to adopt a remote with USB, I don't know how the controller sends over the configuration to the router, it seems that you lost the connection before all the config came over.

it might be a case for tp-link maybe if there is no one else on the forum who has a solution to this.

and you portforwarded 29810-29814 in to controller? 29814 is new and very important
