Model: EAP225   EAP610
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.3.2

Hello,

I use

- Mikrotik Router // DHCP SERVER

- OMADA Controller Version 5.9.31

EAP225(EU) v5.0

1.1.3

EAP610(EU) v3.0

1.3.2

I was using EAP610 + Controller, but i needed to extend my wifi. So i add EAP225 (wire connetion), but roaming is not working at all. Then i Turn of EAP610, devices cant connect to EAP225 AP.

I dont have devices with k / v standard devices so i disable Fast Roaming

In both EAP the same settings

I read all post ia cant find solution. I need help with propre configuration

@Krystianen do you really need 6Ghz? because for now, that band is still not in used by most of the devices. You can try to uncheck 6Ghz and you can choose wp2

@Krystianen same issue here, but you may want to try to fix the encryption of the SSID to wpa2 psk instead of wpa2/wpa3 to see if it can help to fox this issue.

@Krystianen You can disable the 6ghz. Neither of the APs you have support it anyway. I would also enable Band Steering to prefer 5ghz.

The statement you made that you turn off the EAP610 and clients cannot connect to the EAP225 sounds like a configuration issue.  I think the first thing you shoud do is confirm the EAP225 is in fact part of the Wi-Fi network you have configured and is broadcasting an SSID. The following assumes the EAP610 and EAP225 are on the same SSID.

1.Turn off the EAP610 as you mentioned.

2.Forget that Wi-Fi network on the phone, laptop or whatever device you are using to test.

3. Let device search for Wi-Fi.

If the EAP225 is configured correctly, the Wi-FI SSID should appear again. If it doesn't then the EAP225 is either faulty, is not included in the same Wi-Fi network, or is not broadcasting the SSID.

  @PasLu

Yes,

1. Turn of WIFI 6

2. Change seculity to WPA2 insted WPA3

3. Reconnect devices to WIIF (forget wifi)
