Disconnected router but active
Disconnected router but active
Hi,
I have an issue with a remote router appearing disconnected from my local controller.
I have 2 locations. One location has a OC200 controller and a router. The second location has a router connected to the controller in the first location.
It has been working for more than one year without any issues.
This week I restarted the controller, and I lost the connection with the remote router.
No changes have been made to the configuration of the routers and of the controller.
I tried to connect to the devices located in the remote location, reachable via a VPN managed by Omada, and I can connect without any problem. I can also reach the web page of the remote router.
I double-checked the NAT configuration in the local router, and I have all the ports redirected to the controller as documented by TP-Link.
Do you have any idea what else I can check, please?
Thank you

I had something similar, I tried restarting the remote router without any help. but when I restarted the router where the controller is, the remote site connected.
try restarting the router which is where the controller is.

something you also need to check.
have OC200 fixed IP, then there is no problem, but get OC200 IP from router, so check IP on OC200, if it has changed, port forward no longer works,

Thank you for your reply.
I tried with a reboot of both the router and the controller but nothing worked

The controller IP has not changed.
I am using a dynamic IP for my main location. But I checked the IP and it is correctly updated.

Ok, do you have someone at the remote site who can take the power on the router get a hard reboot?
another thing, have you updated routers to 2.2.0? there are many who have problems with disconnection after this update.
i have 3 ER605v2 all with 2.2.0 but i have no problems so not everyone has problem.
There was also an update to the OC200 today, maybe you should try it to see if that helps.

Unfortunately, there is nobody at that location.
I updated the controller this morning:
5.11.10 |
1.25.2 Build 20230704 Rel.64541 |
While both the routers (ER605 v1.0) are on the latest version:
1.3.0 Build 20230511 Rel.51317
Is there a way I can reboot the remote router remotely? I can still access the network via vpn

OK, so you have v1 router :-)
both of my children have v1 in their home, they have to be restarted once a week, on them I have a weekly reboot task, otherwise things can quickly go wrong, I think you'll probably have to get someone to take the power to the router to get them online again

No I dont think there is a way to remote restart this router, I wish they could add a reboot option with ssh or somthing. but for now there is not.

To be honest, I never had issues before, and the remote location has not been rebooted since February.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to reboot it in person before the end of this year. This is really annoying.
But certainly it is a good advice and I will set a recurrent reboot once I will be able to connect again.

If you have enabled SSH on remote site you have some command but I have not finding any reboot, but if you ask support mybe there is a hidden command to reboot
