Model: EAP610
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I'm trying to improve WiFi coverage in my basement. I'm living in a rented flat on the second floor. There are currently two EAP 610 in my flat mounted to the ceiling which provide a very weak signal in the basement. What are my options to improve the wifi coverage in the basement? I can't run ethernet. Also I tried powerline but the signal is not useable. Would be another EAP in the basement in a mesh configuration an option?

You can put one AP on every floor... right under each other, and let it all mesh.  That's what I would do.

Also crank up the power in the Radio Configs to High.

  @KimcheeGUN

If the neighbour's aren't keen to play along, then maybe 610 or 650 outdoor mounted so it faces straight up could punch through 2 floors with enough signal to mesh reliably.

What kind of signal strength do you get on the 5.8 band (not the 2.4) as that is what is used to mesh, in the basement?

Signal strength is around -78 for 5.8 GHz and -65 for 2.4 GHz. I checked this with my phone. Not sure if the 610 antennas could improve that.

I think that the 5. GHz signal would be too weak. Is it also possible to create a 2.4 GHz mesh?
