Easy Smart - Port speed limitation setup - "Switching" or "Qos"
Dear Support Team & Community,
We have an older physical network in the office, and a relative good incoming internet service.
I have to setup a 100Mbit limit to the internal cables / ports but we would like to use the better speed to the external provider's direction.
(We had problems when we allowed higher speeds at the internal cable ends.)
I have inserted an "Easy Smart" switch after the provider's modem/router, the TL-SG1016DE, which can manage the different port speeds.
The the planned setting:
Port 01 (external internet connection) : 1000 Mbit/s (Auto/No limitation)
Port 02-16 (internal office LAN ports) : 100 Mbit/s (limited to slower speed)
The mentioned switch and "Easy Smart" allows you to limit the speed of the ports in two ways.
A) Switching > Port Setting > Speed > Config
B) Qos > Bandwith Control > Ingress/Egress Rate
Question:
Which solution is more appropriate?

I have take some (many..) tests before the installation, but the decision is not clear on the basis of the results.
(E.g. the final speeds are unfortunately not accurate at all.)
Thank you if you have any suggestions in this case.
