Firmaware update silently fails on ER605

I have just purchased an ER605 V2.6, although the firmware reports it as version V2. I am trying to upgrade to ER605(UN)_V2.6_2.2.4 Build 20240119. When I upgrade, the firmware is uploaded to the router and then it performs a reboot. I do not see any error messages. When I login it is still running 2.1.2. The update is being run from a Mac running MacOS 12.7.1 and the ER605 is running in standalone mode.
