General error on adopting and errors in server log file
Hi There,
Having some issues with adopting new devices.
There aren't any issues managing existing devices, but trying to adopt new devices just gives “General error”.
This was happening on a Debian install, then backup and restored to a Windows install which worked for a while, then same issue.
It was then backup and restored from Windows to an Ubuntu instance, and was working for a few weeks before coming up with the same issue again.
I've disabled the firewall on host OS's just to confirm it's not something being blocked, but no changes.
The VM running the controller would also start running at 100% CPU after a few days, and restarting the controller would resolve.
The adoption's “General error” lines up in the server.log at 03-11-2024 13:55:54.584.
The log is also filled with those warning messages, which I don't see on another controller.
The controller is on version 5.13.23, but upgrading doesn't look to have resolved anything.
Different Java versions were also tested while it was on the Windows host, but it had the same issue there as well, both with adoption and the errors.
If anyone has any ideas, if TP-Link support has a resolution for this, or if any other information is needed, please let me know :)
EDIT 2024-03-19
In case anyone runs across this same issue, it looks like the root issue was an old cert added to Omada controller that was carried across migrations.
After removing and restarting the service, there's been no adoption issues, or errors in the server.log file.
