Model: VIGI C540V
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.0.3 Build 240512 Rel.70760n

Hello folks,

I'm facing some intermittent issues with my cameras I've purchased and installed Tp Link Camera setup for my site. I powered up these devices on 9th June and worked flawlessly without any problem. On 21st June evening I received notification states Camera device is offline in my VIGI remote app.

I initially thought may be internet was down but when I see the NVR through the same application its working and I could able to access the recording till the camera goes offline, but still camera alone was showing offline. I was out of station and came back on 1st July and saw camera is powered up because its tracking me when I’m moving around. So went to see the nvr and switch setup. Even Power Led light(Right side led) on POE Switch is showing solid green light and Data Led(Left side led) is not flashing frequently and remains showing solid green light. I tried accessing the camera web interface using IP address but web page showing can’t reached even in nvr also not showing live camera footage. But I could able to access the NVR web interface. And even there is no recording available from 21st when the camera is started showing offline.

Then I restarted the switch alone and after restart it started showing the live footage in VIGI app, NVR & able to login in to web interface through camera IP address.

I thought might be the issue with cable crimping so I have again re crimped both the cable ends with new RJ45 connectors. But that doesn’t solved issue and again faced same on 2nd July night and this time I unplugged and plugged in the lan cable which is connected from router to switch then it started working.

One more thing I have observed in router GUI the static IP which I given for Camera and NVR and associated MAC address is not showing under the LAN devices info on my router. I don’t deeper knowledge on this and unable to find out the exact issue or device which is causing this issue.

So requesting to please help me on this to solve this problem..!

Devices used:

1. Tp Link VIGI C540v V1 Camera

2. Tp Link VIGI NVR1008H V2 NVR

3. Tp Link TL-SF1005LP POE Switch

4. NetLink GPON ONT Router

Wire connections:

CAMERA <—connected using 30meter cat 6 lan cable—> 1st POE Port in SWITCH <—connected using 1meter cat 5e lan cable—> ROUTER

NVR <—connected using 1meter cat 2 lan cable—> ROUTER

In switch Priority mode & Extended mode are in off.

All these devices are connected to battery backup.

IP address setup:

I have set up the Camera & NVR to manual ip mode and give Static IP

Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

NVR IP: 192.168.1.15

Camera IP: 192.168.1.16

LIVE view setup:

I installed VIGI application to watch live footage remotely.

Note:

1. I have added both Camera as well as the NVR to the VIGI application.

2. The email id which is bind with Camera and NVR are logged in VIGI app and using in 3 mobile devices.

Recording setup:

1. I have installed WD purple 1TB hard disk and turned on 24/7 continuous recording.

2. Also Inserted 16gb micro sd card in camera and turned on loop continuous recording in camera as well.

Hi  @ChandraKiran

Seems like the power supply is not stable.

Any other POE devices plugged into the POE switch that may consume some power?

Or did you try different POE ports on the switch?

To avoid this issue, you may enable Recovery Mode:

Hello  @Vincent-TP

1. I have only one device connected to POE switch which is VIGI C540v alone.
2. No, I haven't tried changing the port. I have connected camera to port 1(POE port) in switch and connected router to port 5(Non POE port).

3. The switch I'm using doesn't have recovery mode

 Hi @ChandraKiran

Seems like you are using TL-SF1005LP V1, not V3.

For the camera issue, I recommend trying on different ports.

If you have other POE clients, please plug it into the switch, and observe the performance.

If other POE clients have no issue, I suspect some hardware issue on the camera.

Hi @Vincent-TP

The hardware version of switch is actually V2

I tried using different port still problem is persisting. Today also it is showing the device is offline.

I tried pinging the device it showing packet loss for camera, but for nvr it is showing no loss.

Even camera web interface is also not working and showing as This site can’t be reached

Please help me what to do...!

Hi  @ChandraKiran

Seems like the camera is defective, you may contact your reseller to get a replacement.

Hi @Vincent-TP

I couldn't able to attach the log file through the email support site you have shared. Is there any email ID I can directly send to? Or can I attach the log file in this forum itself? Please let me know.
