Omada 605 PPTP client dont reconnect automatically
Omada 605 PPTP client dont reconnect automatically
Hi
I have pptp client problem with my omada 605,
pptp client ID 1 always reconnects after disconnect but client ID 2 not.
i need every day disable-enable pptp connection via omadas gui for reconnect.
even my old asus router can automatically reconnect as pptp client but tplink not??
is there any setting for auto-reconnect vpn client?

Last week, the dev collected the debug log and we have some initial thoughts on this problem.
We are not 100% sure if this is the cause of the problem you experienced but we plan to offer a beta fix based on the reasons we speculated.
We might provide this beta this week as we need to code and compile.

Thank You for answer.
I disabled pptp client ID 2 some time ago and changed it to openvpn..,
so I have only one ID 1 Enabled pptp tunnel,
and today er605 disconnected this tunnel without any reason. remote pptp server has no error messages. its uptime is more than two months.
log (read from bottom to top)
this is the first time this ID1 pptp tunnel disconnected, because usually ID2 disconnected almost every day.
I thoungt reconnect problem problem present with Two active pptp tunnels... but NO
entered web interface - disable\enable tunnel and it work again.

We have the initiation diagnosis regarding this. Disable/enable is the way to reconnect them properly now but not gonna work if you reboot the router. Will get back to you after they compile a beta for your test.

Seems that it has been fixed in beta ER605_un_2.2.6_20241111-rel57697_common_v2_debug_up_2024-11-12_10.03.10 I made tens of pptp server restarts and my er605 auto reconnects every time :) ... testing and observation, will give feedback later

@Clive_A Hi,
ER605_un_2.2.6_20241111-rel57697_common_v2_debug_up_2024-11-12_10.03.10
problem is fixed.
Testing this firmware for 8 days: tens of restarts, simulatenous and one by one restarts of both pptp servers, er 605 client always reconnected.
biggest surprise was today, when remote pptp server powered off
Nov 20 13:04:56 ER605: 2024-11-20 13:04:56 ppp<5>: [OMADA]WAN2: MPPE disabled: terminating link!
....
4+Hours of reonnect retries until remote pptp serve turned on and tens of messages pptp<5>: WAN2: PPTP client began connecting.
....
Nov 20 17:01:11 ER605: 2024-11-20 17:01:11 ppp<5>: [OMADA]10.2.0.1155: PPTP Client yuriyvpn connected to the server successfully.
thanks tp-link. please add this fix to next stable update.
