For this to happen it's enough one of the two cable terminals to be unplugged (or device powered off). If the device on the other cable end is not UPS protected that may be a reason too.

@spieler You can't do that since AX20 doesn't support WDS or Range Extender option in its Operation Mode section. You can only use a RE to extend your wireless coverage. AX20 also supports OneMesh....
