hi, i have a wd elements usb hdd which im trying to share via my td-w8970 router, its has 2tb capacity ntfs filesystem and its own power.
im running the latest firmware.



i have a screenshot to show what i mean

i understand not all usb memory would work but wd drives are quite main stream so would expect support

any advice would be appreciated

There seems to be 2 disks in the screenshot, one disk is recognized, the othe is not. If your wd elements hdd is plugged into the TD-W8970's USB port directly? If it won't be recognized with direct connection, try to reformat the hdd with a Windows PC, and use FAT32 as file system.

I think you need to set as uutommi said.

The OS on router are always old linux and NTFS is too new to them. As you can see at http://www.tp-link.com/en/search/?q=TD-W8970&t=&s=MODEL. This mode is EOF now

New router may support NTFS.
