Whenever I try to connect any device to the 5ghz network, it automatically switches to the 2.4ghz instead, as if it has trouble staying stable and not disconnecting (doesn't come up with password error). I first noticed this on my phone, then recently on my google chromecasts.

- My modem/router is the AC1200 Dual Band, Archer D5 model.
- The passwords on my 2.4ghz and 5ghz network are the same.
- I'm using the WPA/WPA2 - Personal security setting, and haven't changed any settings in a long time. Does anyone know the cause for this issue?

Thanks

Do not set the same name and password on the 2.4GHZ and 5 GHZ because 5GHZ range is small. If you are out of the range of 5GHZ, you have to connect to the 2.4GHZ
Actually 5GHZ have a higher speed so as you can see, you get a high speed but you receive a small range.

The names aren't the same, one is TP-LINK_2.4GHz and the other is TP-LINK_5GHz so that isn't the issue.

Are there any other possible checks? I see the networks both there but it just never stays on the 5GHz longer than a second
