Big problem with RE450!
Big problem with RE450!
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I write from Italy (sorry for my english), I have Fiber access to the intenet (FTTC) by TIM operator and I am using a
modem-router provided by TIM (Sercomm). I extend my WIFI home network by RE450 Range Extender. The problem
is that many times a day and every day, RE450 stops working but all LEDs remain lit. No connection is possible, the
web page of RE450 is not responding (timeout error). The only solution is restart the range extender. Every day,
many times a day... I tried to change the RE450 with another one (using warranty), but the behaviour was the same.
So I think the problem is in the RE450 implementation. (RE450 V2 with firmware up to date).
At the moment the italian support centre was unable to help me. Is there someone that can give me some
solution/ideas?
Nobody has similar problems?
Tks

I am having the same issue 24 hours after setting it up. It worked great for 24 hours, as an access point, fastest wifi yet, faster than my main router wifi. Then it stopped working, wouldn't respond to the app, wouldn't reset with the button, all lights on, I had to unplug and then I did a hard reset after the lights came back on. It's working fast again, but I just ordered a Netgear similar product to try. Too many people reporting the same problem with this unit. if the netgear works, I'm sending this back.

Good day,
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
May I know where are you located and what is the model number of your home router?
What is the hardware and firmware version of RE450?
When the issue started, would the Ethernet connection still work fine?
And what would be the IP address and default gateway on the laptop?
If you would like to spend more time, we would be happy to forward your case to our senior engineers directly.
Thanks a lot.

@ItalianUser I have the V3 FW version. After I upgraded to the last version 1.0.2 Build 20201203 Rel. 80349 (released on 06-Jan-2021), I got the same problem with the non-responding GUI. I was using the Google Chrom browser. I just tried the Microsoft Edge, and guess what. It works!!! Try it, and maybe it will work for you too, until TP-Link will figure out the problem. I checked today the TP-Link web page for the RE-450 and realised that the FW page does nor include the V3 and V4 (only V1 and V2), so I guess we should expect some FW updates soon, that fixes the issue.
