Prevent devices connected via WIFI from accessing shared docs and devices on LAN
Model : TP-LINK TL - WR641G / 642G
Hardware Version : WR641G/642G v4 081520C2
Firmware Version : 4.2.1 Build 090224 Rel.37293n
ISP : Regular
Hello.
I have configured properly the TP-LINK TL-WR641G device, with 192.168.1.4 as LAN IP and 192.168.0.111 as WAN IP, respectively generating via DHCP server for WIFI guests a range of IPs from 192.168.1.120 to 192.168.1.199. When a guest device connects to WIFI it gets automatically an IP, for example 192.168.1.122. I guess i have configured all properly, because Internet is working fine. But there is one weird issue, the cable that serves internet to my WIFI router is connected into WAN port, not LAN, as should be, yet devices connected via WIFI are able to access folders shared by other devices from LAN, for example a WIFI guest PC with DHCP given IP 192.168.1.122 is able to access shared folders on a LAN PC that has the IP 192.168.0.22, and that is wrong, anyone could connect via WIFI and access confidential docs on LAN machines. Please see scheme:
Is it possible to somehow prevent WIFI guest devices from accessing LAN machines? I have tried every possible rule for IP and PORT filtering with no luck.
Please advice, thanks a lot!
