AC5400X Internet Speed drop by 50% after few hours
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Hi,
I just purchased AC5400X and I am using 800Mbps from my ISP. I tested the speed through Ookla Speedtest and consistently getting 800Mbps for 1st time. However after few hours, the Speedtest dropped by 50% to 400 Mbps and I have to restart the C5400X router in order to get back 800Mbps from Speedtest.
May I know why is this happening and any solution to maintain the internet speed in long term?
Thanks

Dear TP Link Tech dept,
Any update on this terrible technical issue ? Its been 10 months past since the 1st post in this topic and there still no new firmware to resolve it ? The temporary solution is not working at all ! The suggestions in wireless settings are simply like seeing your family doctor for flu, but received no prescriptions and expected self-healing
Thanks

If you use wifi to connect to the router:
I had this with Windows 10 and Archer C1200. I didn't even to restart the router, simply disconnecting wifi (on the computer) and reconnecting would bring back full speed. Apparently Windows automatically switches to power saving mode when your pc turns off the monitor or a certain time has passed with no input,
Here's what I did:
1) Open the command prompt (cmd) as admin and type *netsh winsock reset catalog* - Hit Enter.
2) Now type *netsh int ip reset reset.log hit* - Hit Enter.
3) Restart computer.
4) Open device manager, find your network card, select properties and find power management. Untick "allow windows to turn off this device so save power".

Read this post (basically, disable any Direct Virtual Adapters): https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/79hm53/this_is_the_solution_for_some_people_who_are/?st=jx1ysp5s&sh=3ce5a15c and restart computer again.
I haven't had any loss in speed or wifi disconencts after that.

If you are using an ethernet cable to the router, then I really have no idea. It shouldn't be happening.

@Kevin_Z yes, I am still having the same issue where connection speed drops by more than half after a couple of hours. I have tried the wifi solution offered but it didn't work. Can I please have the modified firmware to disable the AV, QOS features? Consistent connection speed is more important to me.

@Kevin_Z The beta version did not help. The internet speed still drops to half. I have an expensive router and I can throw it away.
