Region : India

Model : TL-MR3020

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 3.14.2 Build 120817 Rel.55520n

ISP : BSNL India

I bought this device yesterday, I am using this device with BSNL's EVDO (cdma network).

It detects my modem fine, and it connects fine, and I can browse.

Exactly at 50th min(few seconds difference), my net gets disconnected.

Please note:

[*]I have tried all modes, connect manually, automatically, on demand -- nothing solves the concern
[*]Changed idle timeout to 0
[*]The device when connected directly works fine for more than 12 hours
[*]Updated firmware to the latest 3.14.2 Build 120817 Rel.55520n
[*]Tried Resetting the Router to factory defaults and configured again
[*]Tried all troubleshooting steps from FAQ as in change it to WEP security, connect manually, idle timeout setting
[*]Most importantly, tried creating a BIN file using USB sniffer and used it, even then its the same issue.

CDMA network is a 2G network, right? It seems that there exists some incompatibility issue. You may try another compatible 3G card.

Nop, its not 2G

By CDMA i meant its not GSM, CDMA EVDO network, is 3G. and mr3020 supports EVDO.

You had better contact TPLINK check your 3G modem is in their compatible list or not. If not, nobody has a solution. But you can also turn to TP tech support for advices. Good Luck!

See even the E1550 Huawei modem which is in the compatibility list of this router has the same issue. On lower firmwares, it disconnects in around 30 minutes

Maybe you can send the system log of your router to their support. After that, they will try their best to offer some idea about it. It is said that the support will reply to you within 24 hours.

It seems that this router is not working properly even when your 3g modem is in the compatible list. Have you tried to get a new one to have a test to see the problem appears with this special router only or not?

The Indian support team has so far not responded to me, Then i escalated it to another official and rexplained everything. Chineese Support guys responded once, and now they also vanished.

Logs ? I have sent them that days back, again a copy a day back. Many logs.

Comparing to Linksys, TP-Link support is very poor

If router is faulty they should replace it, how can I think of spending another 2000rs for testing ???

The list as below may let you down but...Disconnection problem could be a compatible issue. Is your modem in that list for India?
