Internet keeps dropping out

ISP : Telstra
The internet keeps dropping out
the internet light goes off and comes back on after 1 to 2 minutes sometimes longer
all the other lights stay on
it has done it 6 times today
other times it has done it once or twice
never had a problem with the telstra modems dropping out and I have had a few

Hi.
Login the web management page, go to Network->DSL Settings, change DSL Modulation Type from Auto to anther one in the list, and then you can check which one can make Internet connection more stable.

Hi, did changing this setting solve your problem? I've had a similar problem with this model, it's working now, but seems to drop connection every couple of days & then can take up to a day to re-establish. Turning it off for a while doesn't solve it. Thanks,

try changing the DSL settings to G.dmt Annex A had the same problem and picked this up from a Google search so far rock solid on 2.4 and 5.0 with no drop outs

maybe you set "connect on demand" on your 8980,so that Internet will drop out from time to time.
You can configure it in 8980"s web management interface:network->wan settings->add,choose connection type "PPPOE",choose "always on",and reconfigure the parameters your ISP provides,save.
That means you have dialed again。
