Archer C6 router Limited 5G wifi channel
Hay there, i have recently purchased Archer C6 router. In the wireless setting, i have found that in 5G wireless mode, there are only 36, 40, 44, and 48 chennels available. But my previous router had many channel like 161, 157, etc. Is this a hardware problem? should i chenge the router?

Is your router EU or US version?
There is limitation of 5G channel in some regions.

@Nasif I have the same problem. Mine is EU version and I use it in HK. DFS channels 50-68 and 96-144 should all be usable. However I only see 36-48 in the dropdown list. What's happed to tp-link? Why are they disabling the Region setting and limit the channels to 20% of the usable channels. I'm very disappointed.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
The Archer C6 EU version supports band 1 of 5GHz only. it does not support DFS.
The DFS relates to the hardware, we have noted that and will forward to our product department.
Good day.

@Kevin_Z Thanks for your reply. However it is absolutely unreasonable. If it only support band 1 work 80MHz bandwidth, will it ever possible to meet the 900MB through speed. I have a C60 as well and it support much more channels. How can anyone expect a newer and more expensive model (C6) is weaker/worse than older and cheaper model. If I knew this, I would not have bought this C6. And nowhere I can find such info online. TP-Link, you are unfair to your customer!

Tplink should specify that c6 only support band 1 in 5ghz.
It can not be expected from tplink. if i knew that i will never buy c6.
I will never buy tplink router in my life. All the higher-end router like c9 support band 4 in 5ghz wifi in all regions. So region lock is just an excuse from tplink.
Even their c60 lower-end router support band 4 5ghz in all-region.
so pls stop excusing saying about region lock.
Just disappointed from tplink, regret to buy c6.

I'm having problems on the 5GHz network, after upgrading to latest firmware version 1.3.0 the connection is unstable giving packet loss, already the 2.4GHz connection improved more sometimes the ping of 1 or 2ms give peaks of 100 or more, the version of Archer C6 (US) works correctly with wi-fi networks.

@Lucasm Can our C6 (EU) be installed with the C6 (US) firmware that you said is working correctly with Wifi?

There is no way to install the firmware version (US) in the version (EN), because the hardware and different, it seems that hardware version (US) is better and has support for band 4 in 5ghz and all regions. I'm sorry for my English because I'm Brazilian and I used the Windows 10 translator.
