Set the band to "N/AC mixed" and they will connect only at N speeds.

Did you try to hard reset it by holding the reset button/hole for 10s?
What about other devices which is AC compatible? Can they join the 5GHz in AC mode?
And is there any error message if they cannot connect to 5GHz?
