Hi, I recently bought a TP-Link TL-W940N router and I can not access the IP cameras via WAN. The site and cameras have fixed IP's and within the local network they are accessible without problem. The local IP of the router is 192.168.1.1 and it's working mode as a standard wireless router.

Until a week ago I had a D-Link D300 router there that did not have these problems.
Now only the router is accessible via WAN but the cameras are not.
There are two cameras and I have configured the virtual servers with service ports 64000 and 64001, the internal port 80 for both cameras and the fixed IP addresses in 192.168.1.178 and 192.168.1.179. The protocol cell is in "all".

The remote management port is 8080 and the IP 255.255.255.255.

It strikes me that the DHCP option is dimmed out.

I checked the TP-Link support page but I did not find anything to help me. I hope some of you can help me.

Try using ports 81 and 82. Also use different port for each camera.

Thanks ArcherC8, I followed your advices but the problem remain the same.

Tried with Firefox and Chrome with same result.  Chrome error says: connection refused.

Can you get to them by typing in your browser on a PC wired to the router the IP:port (192.168.1.178:81)

I'll have to move myself to the location.  I'll do this week and will comment you the result.  Thanks for your help.

as the cameras have fixed IP, you need configure gateway192.168.1.1 to them as well, otherwise they could only be access on your local network, but not remote network

and the internal port shall be 80, for web service

Hello,

What is the current internet/WAN IP address of the 940N? It should be a public IP address.

Meanwhile, ensure that the configuration parameters to open the port for ths cameras are correct. including port number, port protocol.

Besides, after you setup the port forwarding/virtual server, you can test whether you can access the IP camera in local network with its LAN IP address + port number.

Meanwhile, you can test with WAN/internet IP address + port number to do a test as well.

What is more, it is suggested to disable firewall on the local computer before you test that.

Good luck for you.

If you can get to them via the IP:port (192.168.1.178:81), then the next step is to see if you can connect outside your network via the your ISP IP address:port. And when that works, you set up DDNS address to access your cameras.

Hi ArcherC8 , I went to the location and tried to connect to IP cameras within the local network.  I used the url's 192.168.1.178:64000 and 192.168.1.179:64001 and I got access to both cameras.

Hi May, thanks for your support.  I've checked the camera's gateway values and they already are 192.168.1.1, as you asked.

Thanks ArcherC8, I have a fixed IP address so I'm wondering if your advice for setting up DDNS address applies. I apologize if it's a silly answer, I do not know about this stuff.
