Hi all I see from the recommended solution posted on here that updating the firmware is mentioned, How are you able to do this if the latest download still is not finding the x6 devices I have installed? Regards.

For Windows 7 users.

We faced the same problem with a pair of TL-PA7020P, we failed to make them recognizable by the current or previous PLC Utility.

We tried every connection combination you can imagine and all the suggested solutions and tricks  mentioned in this post, nothing worked.

Finally, I remembered that I was still having the mini CD with the original software dating back to  2015.

Well, we installed the old software and all problems disappeared, everything worked like a charm and both adapters were recognized immediately.

In addition: 1. The master adapter was indirectly connected to the LAN by a TP-Link switch, which was also receiving the internet from the router, no problem at all. 2. We managed to add an extra adapter from a pair of TL-PA4010P without any significant problems.

So IMHO the only currently working solution for the TL-PA7020P, is to find and install the original software.

TL-PA7020P used are version 1.0, TL-PA4010P used is version 2.2, for a total configuration of 3 adapters.

The software installer we used was PowerLineUtility.msi which installed the version: V 2.0 Build 20150708.

I hope that someone will find this post helpful … :)

@bradmoss Sorry about that, that tiny CD really saved my day.

I believe that a moderator can supply an official link for the PowerLine Utility mentioned in my previous post.

Anyway, here is a link for the above file, in case it can be of any help to you.

The link will remain active for a couple of days.

Oops the link was considered illegal ... sorry but i am afraid there is no much i can do about that ...

Better ask support for an official link to the file.

Hope you will be able to find a solution for your configuration.

Regards

I have the same issue... my connection with internet works but I can't customize my SSID, passwords, etc, and tpPLC doesn't show devices to manage.

I tried to change my date (prior to jan/2021) but didn't work.

Bad support of tp-link

@Andre_Nunesbr go to the router console or use some network app to find out the IP address of the Powerline, then use any browser and type that address in the URL bar, that will bring the Powerline manager console.

Facing the same problem here.

Despite my best efforts thus far. The pair of powerline adapters still disconnect from each other from time to time. So I'd like to try disabling power save and see how it goes. However, tpPLC cannot find the devices under the below scenarios:

1) Latest tpPLC (https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202011/20201127/tpPLC%20Utility.zip) + Default WinPcap

2) Latest tpPLC + Win10Pcap (#9)

3) Latest tpPLC + Date set to <2021-1-1

Would like to try an older tpPLC as #26 suggested, but couldn't find it online.

Concerned unit is TP-PA7020P UK/1.0.

Any ideas/solutions?

Cheers.

@loyukfai I installed the latest version of Npcap https://npcap.com/#download and checked the option "Install Npcap in Wincap APT-compatible Mode" This worked for me (Windows 11). yes
