Deco M9+ and NAS
Done domain name with tplinkdns.com but it seems that IP shown on Deco is 10.***** but when I enquire on google my public IP starts with 14.*****. Using Port 21 for both internal & external 21, but cannot access. Issue is with the dns is not pointing to the correct IP address. Broadband is Maxis PPOE.

Hi Jason,
The current interent IP address of Deco M9 plus is a private IP address, that is why you failed to port forward the specific device.
And I'm afraid that there is another modem/router existed which has the public IP address; to statisfy your needs, you can make that unit as bridge and configure the main Deco to get public IP address;
Otherwise, with open the port for the device on the Deco, you need open this port for Deco on the front-end device.
May it help, and have a nice day.

Hi,
Think I just found the issue. My broadband is Maxis and I was given account that ends *****@home.maxis.com.my which has to go in/out via maxis. That is why I got a private IP. Just notify them and manage to get *****@public.maxis.com.my. Now when I query on PC, public IP is the same as in Deco's app.
Manage to solve already. Thank you so much for the responses. Really appreciate it.

Hi,
What is the current internet IP address of Deco M9 plus?
What is the network topology/diagram? Is there any other router existed?
Good day.

Hi,
Thanks for replying.
My Deco IP in PPPoE is 10.113.255.254 but in my tablet when I enquire its 14.192.211.149. I think it is this mismatch IP that I cannot connect to my NAS. Internal network to my NAS fixed IP is not a problem. My mesh is a 3 piece Deco M9 Plus and using Maxis Broadband. Deco’s TP-Link DDNS set up was successful as indicated in my phone app.

Hi,
In fact, it is your reply that gave me the hint. Because I remember, most maxis new registration are given @home.maxis.com.my account which are connected via Maxis IP. Customer needs to request for Public IP, it does affect NAS and also IP cameras. It’s good that resolved and recorded here for others to read. Thank you again.

haha, we both figured it out together. I gave the hint, and you found out the root cause and worked it out.
And I do agree with you that it is good for others who have the same issue to read and solve their problems.
Good day.
