5ghz signal drops
Hi I’ve just got this router I upgraded the firmware to the latest version, first problem is the bedtime mode on parental controls doesn’t always work. And the past 2 days when I wake up in the morning the 5ghz doesn’t work and I have to reboot the router to fix this.

i had the same issues with A6 router. i got them fixed by using the following settings:
security: wpa/wpa 2 personal
version: WPA-PSK
encryption: AES
mode: 802.11ac only
channel width: auto
channel: auto
power: high

"After some considerations" ;) decided to turn my VR600 into a modem only configuration and to order a fancy ASUS WIFI6 router.

One more comment on topic.
I installed exactly the same VR600 as I use at my parents long ago and my mom suffered from strange effect - sometimes she did not received WhatsApp messages on her iPhone for 20-30 minutes, the sender just got single grey v on the message and thats all.
After suddenly having this problems with 5G (I remind that before problem started the router was working ok for almost two years and there were no firmware update for at least a year) I start thinking and disabled 5G on her router too ( she do not really need it anyway) and miraculously the problems with WhatsApp are gone…
So I guess that 5G was here to blame as well and I think the problem not with the soft but with hardware

I have the same problem 5 G drop connections all the time and need to reboot while 2.4G is working perfectly fine.
I found out if I put a mini fan (powered by USB2.0 port) next to the router to help it cool down the situation is resolved. So I believe it is the overheat issue caused the problem.
I hope this helps you guys.

Is the model also Archer A6 v2? How about disabling Onemesh on it? You can try to install the firmware we updated here, then disable Onemesh to confirm:
